How Can severe Gastritis Be Treated?

Over the last few weeks, I have been having excessive gas (more than usual). Also, I don t seem to have regular bowel movements anymore--either constipated or diarrhea. Many times when I do go, it doesn t seem like I am completely emptying out. While it is not really often, I am beginning to experience more and more cramping in the abdomen area. I have also noticed a pinkish tint in the toilet bowl and I detect what looks like blood in the stools. I already know what you are going to say and I know what I need to do. However, here is my situation. I don t have health insurance. Both my wife and I had health insurance before the misnamed Affordable Care Act. Because of this, we lost our health insurance. Replacement insurance was astronomical. I make just a little bit to much to qualify for any kind of subsidy or assistance. We could not afford to pay for health insurance for both of us. So I went without insurance so my wife could have health insurance. Just for coverage for her, we are paying double the premiums we were paying before the misnamed Affordable Care Act. Futhermore, the insurance is not as good as what we had. If I go to the doctor for this, this will require extremely expensive tests that I cannot afford. What do you suggest for someone in my position.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to severe gastritis. For that you can take tablet Pantoprazole and syp Mucaine gel after consultation. Along with that avoid hot and spicy foods. Take light foods. In case of not getting relief you may require upper GI endoscopy after gastroenterologist consultation.

Do regular exercise for 30 to 40 mins daily. Avoid smoking and alcohol if you have it.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
